Wowweee what a crazy week. Didn't make it to the gym once, but had a great time with LOTS of driving... Here are the highlights, check out these badass people and places -
Bristol Farms - ok, if you live in Southern California you certainly know about Bristol Farms. It would be like living in St. Helena without knowing about Sunshine Market. Just wouldn't happen. Well give these guys some love people, because they ROCK! Their staff knows all there is to know about their products, they are friendly and clean. Add to that an amazing selection of everything under the sun and you see why they are so popular! Geoff Nicoll and I spent a very fun hour in his office tasting all sorts of fun spirits. Most memorable was the tequila (did I mention Marko & Miles are distilling Charbay tequila people????), thanks for sharing Geoff!! Bristol Farms carries Charbay vodkas, but if you'd like to purchase our specialty products they will certainly order it for you :-) Check out these hilarious corn holders (to your right) I bought Ryan and Tyana at the Long Beach store...
Have any of you had the pleasure of hanging out at Club 33 in Disneyland? Well let me just tell you - it's awesome. The only liquor in Disneyland is served in their swanky restaurant. Got to stop in to see my pal Eric Q... Almost got trampled on my way out by some Midwestern tourists that had twenty $$ bills out trying to bribe the hostess to let them in - I felt like a celebrity leaving an LA club or something! Tina, so sorry I missed you...
Got to hang out in the park afterwards, hit the rides with some of my closest friends (= family). LOVE Pirates of the Carribean!
Next time you are in Montecito - just out of Santa Barbara - check out the Montecito Inn. Seriously awesome value... Thanks for hooking it up Craig - it's not easy finding something even remotely affordable when I travel to SB, so many thanks for the love.
Just a few doors down do not skip Wine & Liquor Grotto. Jess and Ingela (owners) are awesome and highly entertaining. Seriously, Jess' stories of drunk cop experiences and taunting the AA folks made me laugh so hard my face was hurting. Good clean fun, that taunting an AA scene with whiskey in hand. Classic. Keep on keepin' on Jess :-) Aaaaaand, they still have a bottle of Charbay Whiskey I AND a few bottles of Charbay Pastis - both of which are sold out from the distillery. Suh-weet!
Canary Hotel (Santa Barbara) - This hotel is off the hook, if you have way more money than me you should stay here. Corwyn and Brandon have hooked us up with several tasty cocktails on the list and have almost every product Charbay releases... That's love baby! If your wallet looks more like mine, at least stop in for happy hour at their remodeled bar. It's gorgeous, they serve the bizzle (pet name for Charbay), great snacks are available and the men behind the bar (Harry & Tommy) are highly entertaining. Please don't skip the Meyer Lemon Drop with the graham cracker rim. Hello lovely.
Wine Cask (Santa Barbara) - Tasty treats here! Had awesome soup and tasty salad, hung out with Andy Tetlow and had a great time chatting with Brandon from Canary Hotel. The tasting menu looked oh-so-tasty, next time I'm in town I'll be enjoying it. Also hoping to plan a future distillers dinner here. Congratulations Andy on your upcoming wedding :-) Wishing you all the happiness in the world...
Wine Castle (Ventura) - Moses has all the goods in his store! He never tastes, but we busted out Charbay Whiskey II and he took the plunge with a smile on his face. Look for it next time you are in the store :-)
Beverage Warehouse (Los Angeles) - Our man Durrell is SO fun, with a down-to-earth style that puts everyone at ease. Good times were had at our Charbay tasting, hope to make it happen again soon! You can find all things Charbay here, even Whiskey II ::-)
Wine House (Los Angeles) - If you need it, they've got it! Check out their wine dinners, I hear they are off the hook. Let me know if you've been to one, would love to hear about it. AND you can now purchase Charbay Aperitifs here, as well as Charbay Whiskey II. Yeah babay. Shout out to Mark Schwartz!
Tanzore (Beverly Hills) - some tasty Indian goodness here. And the cocktails are flowing, see the new additions below... Matt is going to be a contestant for the Scottsdale Food & Wine Show in September, stay close for more details... Hang in there Joe!
Westin Napa Valley - had an awesome tasting with Scott and team yesterday of La Toque... They will have the entire F & B program at the Westin and I can't wait! Will keep you posted...
