Bartender Competition at Rye was FUN!

Thanks to each and every one of you that attended the cocktail competition we sponsored, together with Beverage Artistry and Rye SF on Monday... Especially to those of you who stuck your neck out to compete - it was a great event! Hope you all had as much fun as we did :)

FIRST PLACE:
Naka, Jon Olinaga (Clift Hotel – SF)
2 oz Charbay Green Tea Vodka
1 oz Nigori Sake
1 oz Beverage Artistry Yuzu Luxe Sour

SECOND PLACE:
Samurai, Jason Withrow (Redd – Napa Valley)
4 blackberries
3 oz Charbay Green Tea Vodka
1.5 oz Beverage Artistry Yuzu Luxe Sour
.5 oz lemon-ginger simple syrup
Shaken and double-strained over ice, topped with Fever Tree Ginger Beer
Shaken and strained, garnished with an orchid flower

THIRD PLACE:

.75 oz lime juice
1/2 muddled jalapeño
.25 oz Beverage Artistry White Sangria

Shaken and strained, garnished with cayenne pepper on the rim and a slice of jalapeño

2 oz Charbay Tahitian Vanilla Rum
.5 oz Licor 43
.5 oz grapefruit juice
.5 Beverage Artistry Yuzu Luxe Sour.5 oz egg white
Shaken and strained, sprinkled with Chinese 5 spice

Lydia, Joe Parrilli (Wayfare Tavern – SF)
1.5 oz Charbay Meyer Lemon Vodka

1 oz Applejack
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz lavender honey
.5 oz Salerno blood orange liqueur
Fever Tree Bitter Lemon
Served in a Collins glass, topped with cucumber foam

1.5 oz Charbay Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka
.5 oz Beverage Artistry White Sangria
3 oz Beverage Artistry Passion Colada
.5 oz fresh lemon juice

Shaken and strained over crushed ice, drizzled with homemade strawberry & Beverage Artistry Red Sangria Syrup

Gilligan’s Gossip, Michael Callahan (Gitane – SF)
2 oz Charbay Tahitian Vanilla Rum
1.5 oz fresh orange juice
.75 oz Beverage Artistry Yuzu Luxe Sour
.25 oz allspice dram
Dollop of Beverage Artistry Passion Colada
Scoop of El Corazon faux caviar
1 Tahitian vanilla bean
