Another great Whiskey Write up!!

And this just in from 52brews.com:

Hop Flavored Whiskey

"A friend of mine sent me a link to this blog post - Review: Charbay Hop Flavored Whiskey, Batch #2 by John Hansell, Malt Advocate Publisher & Editor.

A “bottle ready” California Pilsner beer was given an extra dose of hops and then distilled in a pot still and aged in new oak for six years. Then it was aged in stainless steel for another three years. Five barrels were bottled.

Hansell says the drink is reminiscent of the private-stash Hops Schnapps he had sampled during his travels through Europe - intriguing insight into the lives of some of the small craft European brewers. But just in case your head isn’t already spinning around on its axis, the tasting notes suggest something of ‘Bob Marley meets Iron Chef’.

It’s a complex whiskey, accentuated naturally by hops, exotic teas, marijuana (seriously!) candied fruit, lavender, dark berries, raspberry (red and black), juniper, freshly ground tellicherry pepper, and light Caribbean rum.

Interesting indeed. As much as I appreciate the thought and effort, the $325 price tag confirms I’ll put my money towards a trip to Jamaica instead."

And I say how about we meet you in Jamaica with a bottle of Whiskey!!! :-)
